From the Chairman of the Thai Furniture Industry Club
Mr. Decha  Koopthavonrerk

Even though Thailand is experiencing an economic crisis in the past 2 years, Thai furniture exports still continue to record a positive growth rate. Recognising the growth potential of the furniture export industry, the Department of Export Promotion has devoted substantial resources in helping our furniture industry members increase their exports. Trade missions to new potential markets such as Eastern European countries, Australia and Russia are orgenised for furniture exporters to explore the opportunities available. Companies that have not previously been exporting are encouraged to participate in major international fairs to showcase their products and gain expertise.
The results of the concerted efforts by our industry members and government trade agencies in promoting furniture export are clearly evident. Furniture is now one of the top fifteen foreign exchange earners. Thai furniture has also gained wider acceptance in the world especially where consumer demand is for greater diversification, higher quality, better design and competitive price. No doubt, Thai furniture will continue to play an important role in the growth and prosperity of our economy.
The 3rd edition of Thai Furniture Industry Club's directory will serve as a useful, reliable and comprehensive source of information for prospective overseas buyers. It will also be a useful reference and promotional material for Thai trade missions abroad.
I would like to express my sincere thanks to our working committee, advertisers, well-wishers and all our members for their continued supports and efforts which has contributed to the success of this publication.
